In different stages of my life, I have participated in many competitions and won some awards in these competitions. One of the contests I want to talk about is the Cycling competition I took part in when I was in college.
I was a college student then and about 15 years old. One day I saw an advertisement in the local newspaper that there would be an inter-school Cycling competition next week. The entry fee was $20 and prizes would be awarded to the top three finishers. I'm very interested in cycling, that's why I want to take part.
On the day of the race, I went to the starting point and registered my name in the race. I got on my bike and put on my bike clothes. I noticed there were about 30 competitors and I was asked to stand at the starting point. With the sound of the whistle, I began to ride. I had very few thoughts of winning prizes, but I just focused on cycling.
The total distance was about 5 miles, which took some effort and time. After I finished the racing, I was really surprised to hear that I won the third prize. I found some of my classmates were shouting because I was one of the three winners.
I felt very happy and proud that I got a good result in this competition. I actually never took my cycling habits seriously, and after that race, I started competing in other Cycling competitions as well.
